About Me

My core training is in Person-Centred, Transpersonal (beyond the person) Humanistic Psychotherapy, which has enabled me to work with people on a mental, emotional and spiritual level, empowering them to achieve a balanced lifestyle. My drive is to help people seek their hidden potential and actively engage with themselves.

Thanks to my British-Asian heritage, I can appreciate the diverse multi-cultural world we live in. I am also bilingual and fluent in Punjabi.

I have over 18 years’ experience working in the NHS, as well as running a private practice where I offer therapy to individuals, couples and groups. With my vast experience comes knowledge and with this knowledge I have successfully managed to help people help themselves.

Counselling and psychotherapy

Counselling/Psychotherapy plays a crucial role when needing to improve our mental health and wellbeing, as it allows us to talk freely about your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, supporting you to make a positive change in your future. Counselling therefore, is not a quick fix, it takes perseverance, patience and willingness to work with one another to overcome difficulties you may be feeling in your life. Counselling offers a safe space, with no judgement where you can explore who you are and go deep into your thoughts and feelings.

It is fundamental as a counsellor to understand and empathise with your client providing a safe environment, allowing you to explore your past, present and future. This allows you to identify, nourish and heal the wounds which may have been developed, thus enabling you to strive forward towards your future.

What is
client-centred therapy?

This approach emerged from the premise that we all have the ability to move towards a more fulfilling and satisfying way of living. This is a non-authoritative approach, where the counsellor trusts you to take more of a lead in the discussion and the pace of the session.

The key aim is to help you develop a greater understanding of yourself in an environment which allows you to resolve your own problems, through talking and discussing openly, without direct intervention by the therapist. The counsellor offers unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence to help develop change. I am merely a traveller on your journey, supporting you to develop a greater sense of self-awareness.

Is counselling right
for you?

Most of us at some point in our lives will experience a sense of feeling overwhelmed or “not ourselves”. Whilst it is not easy to open up about certain areas of our lives, which can bring discomfort or distressing emotions. Counselling offers the opportunity to express yourself to an experienced impartial listener – allowing for a different perspective, and helping to bring new insights and an alternative approach.
